Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, OH is pleased to announce auditions for TWO amazing musicals: A CHORUS LINE and THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, both celebrating their 50th Anniversaries!!!
Performers will have the option of auditioning for one or both of these shows, as they do nor run concurrently.
A CHORUS LINE will be directed and choreographed by Chris Chase Carter (Beck’s ONCE ON THIS ISLAND) with musical direction by David Robison. A CHORUS LINE plays July 11th through August 10th. Rehearsals will begin circa late May/early June tbd.
A CHORUS LINE features 16 dancers on the line (8 M/8 F) plus Zach (Director/Choreographer) and Larry, Zach’s Asst. The show also features an additional 8 performers who are cut after the opening number. All 8 (plus Zach and Larry) return to dance the finale’ AND each of the 8 will actively understudy TWO of the roles on the line.

THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM will be directed by Beck Center Artistic Director Scott Spence, with musical direction by Larry Goodpaster and Choreography by Lauren Marousek. THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM will perform in Beck’s intimate Studio Theatre and plays May 30th through June 29th. Rehearsals will begin circa April 21st.
THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM features a cast of 10 to 12 populating the Natchez Trace in Mississippi in the 1800’s. It packs a wildly comic 1-2 punch combining raucous Bluegrass music with the tallest of tall tales.

Auditions for both these shows will happen at the same time, and will take place at The Beck Center. Auditions will be by appointment and can be made for the following days/times by calling the Beck Box Office during regular business hours--Noon to 8PM weekdays and various on weekends at 216-521-2540
FRIDAY, February 21st~~~Appt. Slots beginning at 5PM
SATURDAY, February 22nd~~~Appt. Slots beginning at 2PM
For Open Call auditions please prepare a single vocal selection no longer than 90 seconds. Dance calls will be held as part of the Call Back process. Please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided.
All performers 18 and over are paid a stipend for their participation. A CHORUS LINE will offer 2 AEA contracts. THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM is non Equity only.
VIDEOTAPE Auditions are welcome. Just one 90 second vocal needed. A dance reel for A CHORUS LINE is welcome. Beck is unable to offer housing, so please keep that in mind when submitting.
