We are excited to invite you to an event related to the future of Ensemble Theatre in Cleveland Heights, and our involvement with a unique and one of a kind vision for the future of the Coventry P.E.A.C.E.Campus. The project is a redevelopment proposal that honors and builds on the 100-year history of this unique site as a center for arts, education and community gatherings. The proposal is being developed by leaders of the tenant organizations and Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Inc., the non-profit that maintains the park and playground. We are aided by outside experts who have been lending their time to the cause architect Paul Volpe and real estate attorney Lee Chilcote. Our group has been working since May, when the tenants were informed they would need to move to month-to-month leases, to make way for the School District’s possible plan to transfer ownership of the property to the City of Cleveland Heights.
Our plan is ambitious, thoughtful and attainable. We encourage you to read more about all of this at coventrypeacecampus.org. We also strongly urge you to attend our Community Meeting and Presentation on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30pm, in the Coventry Building Common Room. 2843 Washington Blvd. Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. We look forward to sharing with you why we believe this vision will benefit the current tenants, The CHUH School District, the Coventry Village neighborhood, Coventry merchants and all of Cleveland Heights as well as the city of Cleveland as a whole. Please invite your friends, neighbors and anyone you know who cares about the arts, culture and education in our region.
We also invite you to a special exhibit at the Lee Road Library Gallery (in former YMCA building) 2435 Lee Rd. Cleveland Hts. OH 44118. “Create. Show. Learn. Grow” features information about each of the amazing organizations currently housed in the building, the history of the Coventry site, and the basis of our vision for the Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Campus. Assembled by ARTFUL’s Executive Director, Shannon Morris, this exhibit is an example of the strong partnerships our organizations have already developed and we are thankful for the support of our local library system. The exhibit is open during normal library hours through Sunday, September 24th.
