African-American Actress-Singer needed for an upcoming performance of "Lynch", a play with music by award-winning playwright, F.A. Taylor, to play the role of Betty Shabazz (wife of Malcolm X). Actress must have a strong stage presence, as she delivers a powerful monologue during the course of the show, and must have a strong singing voice and be able to sing in a gospel style. A stipend will be provided for the performance.

Production Dates:
Friday & Saturday, February 21-22, 2020 at 7 pm
Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 3 pm
A benefit performance may be added on Thursday, February 20.

Rehearsals begin week of 1/6/2020, three evenings a week. 
Exact days/dates will be based on actor availability. 
All actors must be available for daily rehearsals during show/production week.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 5. If you are interested in auditioning, please send an email to stage manager Tess Snyder at tessnyder550@gmail.com with a current photo and resume and your availability to audition on Sunday, January 5 (afternoon or evening). If invited to audition, please be prepared to sing 32 bars of gospel-style music (a spiritual or contemporary song is okay) and read from the script.  If you are not available to audition on January 5, we will accept video auditions but you must contact us before submitting your video.
