CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE & DOBAMA THEATRE HOLDING COMBINED GENERAL AUDITIONS FOR 2017-18 SEASON 



Cleveland Play House and Dobama Theatre are holding joint 2017-18 Season General Auditions for local actors, led by CPH Associate Artistic Director Robert Barry Fleming and Dobama Artistic Director Nathan Motta. You will be able to be seen by both companies with a single audition. These auditions are by appointment only. Open to non-Equity and Equity actors

 

This open call is for the theatres’ seasons in general. Performers will be contacted at a later date should the opportunity to audition for specific productions and roles arise. Young Performer auditions for CPH’s production of A Christmas Story and Dobama Theatre’s season will be held separately at later dates. However, qualified young girls (ages 14-17) may submit a headshot/resume at this time to be considered for an audition appointment for The Diary of Anne Frank.

PREPARATIONS:
Please prepare two contrasting monologues; no longer than three minutes.  Additionally, actors may be requested to perform 16 lines of Shakespeare during the audition. If you wish, you may also sing 16 bars of a song of your choice.  Depending on the time of your appointment, accompaniment may not be available but you are welcome to sing a cappella. Actor/Musicians, or those possessing the necessary talents, may also choose to perform a 16 bar sample. If you plan to sing and/or play at your audition, please mention so in your appointment request e-mail. You will be auditioning for Robert Barry Fleming, CPH Associate Artistic Director and Nathan Motta, Dobama Artistic Director. Laura Kepley, CPH Artistic Director may also be attending these auditions as her schedule allows. Please bring three copies of your most current headshot and resume.
