*When we say “in concert” that means we’ll simply tell the story, focusing on this important American musical through all of the spoken dialogue and the songs.

In this follow-up to our John Kander concert, here’s a chance to see a great 1968 Kander & Ebb show you may have missed — based on the wildly popular novel and film Zorba the Greek, starring Anthony Quinn. “I believe in grabbing at life,” says a force of nature called Zorba. “Every minute is a new minute. Never happened before.” This stirring tale captures the spirit of Greece and celebrates a people who embrace love, life and death with equal passion. “I Am Free,” proclaims Zorba in song, and you are bound to be moved by his credo. TMTP’s in-concert presentation, directed by Terri Kent, features Fabio Polanco in the charismatic title role.

Music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joseph Stein, adapted from Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis | Directed by Terri Kent | Music direction by Nancy Maier | Featuring Fabio Polanco and members of the Kent State University Musical Theatre Program

Co-produced with Beck Center and Kent State University

Join us for a special post-show discussion with the performers, director Terri Kent and Bill Rudman.
