AUDITIONS FOR CAMEO’S 2015 SUMMER MUSICAL, WEST SIDE STORY
CAMEO proudly announces auditions for its summer musical, West Side Story. This timeless musical will be presented in the beautiful Medina Performing Arts Center July 17, 18, 23, 24 & 25 at 8 PM and July 19 & 26 at 2 PM.
Auditions for West Side Story will take place Monday, May 18 from 5-9 PM and Tuesday, May 19 from 5-9 PM. Auditions will be held at the Garfield North Arts Complex (formerly the Grace Drake Center for the Arts), 222 S Broadway, Medina, Ohio. Callbacks will be Wednesday, May 20 from 6-9 PM. Callbacks will be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Rd, Medina Ohio. Please note: Auditions will be held in a separate location than callbacks, rehearsals, and performances.
Prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre piece in the style of the show. Prepare a monologue of your choice, approximately 2 minutes in length. Please bring your resume, headshot, and music clearly marked, as an accompanist will be provided. A cappella auditions are discouraged. No CDs/iPods will be permitted for accompaniment. You will not be asked to dance at the audition. However, a dance audition will be part of the callback process.
Rehearsals begin for West Side Story on Monday, June 8. All rehearsals will take place at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals are generally scheduled Sundays-Thursdays from 7-10PM. Company members will be called as needed, and therefore may not be required to attend every rehearsal. Please bring a complete list of rehearsal conflicts at the time of auditions.
