Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights, an Open and Affirming/Just Peace congregation of the United Church of Christ, is seeking a tenor section leader for its adult choir.

 

The position reports to the Director of Music and the Arts and requires availability for the weekly Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m. with a 9:45 a.m. choral warmup and the midweek choir rehearsal from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. during the program year that runs from September through mid-May.  Additional mandatory services include Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday.  Compensation is $65 per call, paid monthly.

 

While there will be opportunities for solos, duets, etc., the primary responsibility of the position is to provide musical leadership and support for the volunteer singers in the section.  Consequently, strong sight-reading skills are indispensable and a cheerful, collaborative spirit is needed as well.
