Shaker Heights High School Choirs

seeks an Associate Director of Show Choir for the 2017-2018 competition season. This is a part-time Board approved supplemental contract position. Experience in dance, show choir staging and choreography is required.

Duties:

• Assist in summer 5-day choreography boot camp

• Lead weekly rehearsals with music director focusing on visual and show concepts. Rehearsals occur 1-2 times per week (weekday rehearsals are generally 6:00-9:30pm) Occasional Saturday rehearsals can begin as early as 9am and go to 3pm

• Develop singer-dancer movement technique and skills

• Work directly with choreographer and show designer to implement choreography and staging

• Attend show choir events, performances and competitions as a chaperone

• Assist with other organizational functions as needed i.e. costuming, set design, fundraising events and activities.
