Need to get away from your family this weekend? Come and join THE
LYONS as they voice their private thoughts out loud, blame each
other, and fill CVLT's smaller stage with dark humor and savage
honesty.
Nicky Silver’s play about the self-destructing Lyons family first
appeared on Broadway in 2012. The setting is a hospital room in
which Ben Lyons (played by John Q. Bruce) is dying of cancer. His
wife Rita (Mary Jane Nottage) and grown children have gathered to
his side. Rita is focused on redecorating the house, while
daughter Lisa (Catherine Remick) is trying to stay sober, and son
Curtis (Sean McCormick) is trying to disconnect from everyone. No
one is safe from the curse of kinship as they search for
connection and find it in unexpected places.
The production is directed by Yvonne Pilarczyk and produced by
Cindee Catalano-Edelman. The cast also includes Lisa Lazarczyk as
the nurse and Justin Steck as Brian.
