What to prepare: Readings will be from the script. Prior preparation is not required. Audition sides will be posted closer to the audition dates and a link sent to auditioners. A headshot and resume is appreciated.
*Audition sides DO NOT need to be memorized. Copies will be provided at auditions. The link is just to help you be more comfortable in your audition.
Performance Dates: August 5 - 20. Shows will be Thursday-Sunday. Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm. Sunday performances will be at 7pm. (Show will close on a Saturday night)
Rehearsals: Will begin July 11th and will be Sunday-Thursdays. Typically 7pm-10pm, though Sundays will be a longer day based on conflicts. This is only a four week rehearsal period.
Pay: Blank Canvas Theatre dedicates 20% of the net profit to the cast of each show. The cast splits this evenly.

Character Breakdown
* The age range for each character is flexible and all ethnicities will be considered.
Ricky Roma (Male 30’s-40’s): Top-of-his-game salesman, smart, charming, quick witted, seductive, ruthless. Preening, easy talker who quickly sizes up his “prey.” Will stop at nothing to make a sale.
Shelley “the machine” Levene (Male 40-60’s): Older salesman down on his luck, in a slump and desperate for a return to his glory days. Incessant talker, uses a variety of tactics to achieve his ends.
Dave Moss (Male 30’s-50’s): Volatile, scheming salesman. At odds with Roma throughout. Sarcastic and explosive under pressure.
George Aaronow (Male 40’s-60’s): Nice guy. A salesman who hates his job and the lies he has to tell to succeed. timid, meek and mild-mannered. Easily overpowered in conversation, panicky, frustrated, depressed, self-flagellating. Not an original thinker, not up to high pressure, cut-throat real estate world.
John Williamson (Male 20’s-40’s): The sales office manager. Company man. Hated by all the salesman as he has never done their job. Bureaucrat but willing to bend the rules for personal gain.
James Lyngk (Male 30’s-40’s): Impressionable, friendless client of Roma. Signs up to buy some real estate then changes his mind. Quiet, timid, insecure, indecisive.
Baylen (Male 20’s-40’s): Police officer investigating fraud at the sales
