The 2012 Revival Edition is a masterful retelling of the original sensation injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden); and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," “Light of the World,” “We Beseech Thee” and “Beautiful City.”

We are seeking a diverse group of students, grades 8-12, to bring these parables, songs and characters to life. The characters in this story are energetic and charming. Gentle, but strong. Playful. Thoughtful. Revolutionary. They sing, they dance, they play instruments. They are an ensemble.

Rehearsals: 5:30pm-8:30pm, 2-3 x per week November-January (with breaks for Thanksgiving and Winter Vacation)

Tech Week: January 26th-January 31st, 5:30pm-8:30pm

Performances: Friday, January 31st and Saturday, February 1st, 7:00pm, Orange High School Auditorium

Auditions: Monday, November 4^th, 2019. 5:30pm-8:30pm

Please prepare 16-32 bars (or 1-minute) of contemporary musical theater in the style of the show. Sheet music, though not required, is strongly recommended. An accompanist will be provided. Students will be seen in the order in which they sign-in at the door. Please plan to stay for the dance call at 7:00pm. For the dance call, please wear appropriate dance or athletic clothing and shoes that allow you to move freely. There will be time to change between singing and dancing.
