When: Sunday, September 8, 2019 3:00-5:30 pm and Monday, September 9, 2019 7:00-9:30 pm

Where: Lorain County Community College, Stocker Arts Center’s Cirigliano Studio Theatre, 1005 North Abbe Road, Elyria OH 44035

Note: Must be 18 years or older or have parental consent

What to Prepare:

·      Memorize/Prepare a 32 bar cut in the style of the show. Have alternate selections prepared if needed. Pop/Rock songs not from musical theatre are acceptable.

·      If auditioning for the role of the Narrator only, please prepare a short monologue not to exceed 2 minutes instead of a song.

·      Bring Sheet Music in correct key (accompanist provided). No recorded music please.

·      Bring current photo and resume

·      Check your calendar for any and all scheduling conflicts outside of Mon-Fri 9am-5pm from September 30-November 24.

·      Rehearsals: Will begin September 30, 2019

·      Performances: November 21-23, 2019 at 8:00 pm and November 24, 2019 at 3:00 pm

·      Casting Note: Any race, gender, age, body type, or other identities are encouraged to audition and will be considered equally in casting. LCCC does not offer union contracts and performers are volunteers.

Character Breakdown:

USHERETTE/MAGENTA: Female (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt)

Usherette sets up the show and sings opening number, Magenta is one of Frank’s servants. Creepy woman who exudes strength and sexuality plotting with Riff Raff. Roles could be split between two actors.

BRAD: Male (Range: Bari Tenor)

Quirky, but very much in love with his fiancé, Janet. Overly optimistic at times.

JANET: Female (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt)

Good girl who is madly in love with Brad. Always seems to be frightened of something. Keeps losing more of her clothes throughout the story. Emotionally weak and caves into pressure easily.

NARRATOR: Any Gender (Range: Non-Singing Role)

Follows our two hero’s through the story by narrating directly to the audience.

RIFF RAFF: Male (Range: High Rock Tenor)

Creepy man resembling more of a zombie. Often makes harmless conversation seem awkward and foreboding. One of Frank’s servants.

COLUMBIA: Female (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt)

One of Frank’s servants. Tap dance experience preferred.

FRANK 'N' FURTER: Any Gender (Range: Baritone)

Master of the castle. Welcomes Janet and Brad with open arms. Obsessed with creating a man to be part of his sexual entourage. Master of seduction.

ROCKY: Male (Range: Tenor)

Frank’s magnificent creation. Sexually appealing with prominent muscles.

EDDIE/DR. SCOTT: Male (Range: Baritone)

Eddie, delivery man, “went to pieces.” Misses the rock and roll of life. Comes back to life only to die after his solo. Scott is Eddie’s Uncle. Roles could be split between two actors.

4 PHANTOMS – Any Gender

Various Singers play many ensemble roles throughout the show. Should be able to harmonize well.
