Playwrights Local 4181 is seeking actors for a staged reading in its 2016 Play Lab + Spring Workshops weekend. This new full-length play is JAATHI by Nivi Engineer, and it is directed by Sarah Greywitt with dramaturgy by Arwen Mitchell.
The reading will be on Sunday, April 17th at 3:00pm (2:00pm call) at Waterloo Arts in North Collinwood. There will be 1-2 rehearsals between April 2 and 16 (based on actors’ schedules) in the same neighborhood. This reading is unpaid.
We are especially seeking actors of Indian descent for the following roles. However, we are open to non-traditional cultural casting as well.

GIRISH KUMAR SEEMA and MAYA's father, mid to late 50s, speaks with slight Northern Indian accent*

ARVIND VERMA ASHA's nephew from India, mid to late 20s, speaks with slight Indian accent*
