We are so excited you are interested in participating in Cain Park’s summer youth show, Madagascar Jr.! There is no participation fee for this show! Auditions are open to children finishing their 2nd grade – 8th grade school year. 

Auditions will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024 from 12pm-4pm. We are not assigning audition slots ahead of time, so just come on in! You will be seen in the order you arrive and sign up on the sign-up sheet, which will be provided at the door. For your audition, please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. You will sing acapella (without accompaniment!).

Please come to the Cleveland Heights Community Center at 1 Monticello Blvd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118.  The auditions will take place in the Senior Center Multi Purpose Room. 

It’s ok if you’re nervous or if this is your first audition! I always feel better when I know what a director is looking for, so I thought it would help you to know what I look for in an audition. I’m looking to see:

• If you can sing your song on tune and on tempo
• That you put a little emotion into what you’re singing
• That you are a good fit for one of the characters we are looking to cast
• Your personality!
• Smile – this is fun!
• And, finally, “Sing out, Louise!” aka projection, or how loudly you can sing
