30 DAYS LEFT TO SUBMIT AUDITION VIDEOS FOR SHINING STAR CLE 2024

Are you a high school solo singer dreaming of performing on stage?  This event is an “American Idol” style solo-singing competition where 10 students and 2 alternates perform center stage at Playhouse Square in a competition for college scholarships.  Celebrity judges choose the top 4 singers.  Then the audience along with the judges select the winner.  The top 4 winners receive a total of $18,500 in college scholarships.  All genres of music are welcome and participation is free.   More details here.

Shining Star CLE, a Northeast Ohio favorite since 2017, is now hosted by the Mandel JCC of Cleveland. Join us for THE FINALS on Sunday, September 22, 2024 • 7 pm at Playhouse Square!

ELIGIBILITY

• High school students with a 2025 to 2028 graduation date

• Must live in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties, including homeschooled students

THE AUDITIONS

• Submit your video audition online from April 1 - June 30, 2024 at 11:59 pm

• Upload your audition video (3 minutes max) to https://shiningstarcle.submittable.com/submit

• Piano accompaniment, personal instrument usage or a cappella are preferred, but recorded accompaniment is allowed

THE SCHOLARSHIPS

• 1st Place Winner:  $10,000 college scholarship plus an opportunity to perform with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra

• 2nd Place Winner:  $5,000 college scholarship

• 3rd Place Winner:  $2,500 college scholarship

• 4th Place Winner:  $1,000 college scholarship

• Bonus Prize:  $2,500 to the high school music department of the 1st place winner

• All winners will receive a free one year membership to The J

THE CAUSE

Shining Star CLE is an inclusive singing competition showcasing the best of Northeast Ohio’s talented teens while supporting a broad range of Mandel JCC programs and services including healthy aging adults, youth, arts and culture, and scholarships.
