Greetings NEOhioPAL People!
Just a quick reminder about the next meeting of the Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio. We will meet on Sunday November 26, 2017 at Grace Presbyterian Church - 1659 Rosewood Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107 at 2:00 pm.
Our program for the day will include;
- A discussion on the recent Great Lakes Region Puppet Potlatch Festival
- "Puppet Making Workshop" by Langston Hatch. Langston is a young and enthusiastic ventriloquist and puppeteer from Columbus, Ohio. He has also developed some amazing puppet building techniques and we are pleased to have him bring his workshop to the Cleveland area. I watched part of this workshop at the recent Potlatch Festival and I know that you will all enjoy this presentation.
Here is a brief description on Langston's workshop
" Have you ever wanted to try your hand at soft sculpture puppets? You don’t know where or how to start? Than this is the class for you. In this class I’ll show you how to pattern a puppet head base. Then I’ll show you how to add features and sculpt them down to create a completely unique puppet. I will also show you a few fabric covering techniques and a few different ways to make a body to complete a professional quality puppet"
- Bring your puppet related items (puppets, books, photos, etc.) for "Show & Tell"
- If you have any puppet related items that you no longer need for want, bring them for our "Swap Table" so that they may find a new home with another member.
- Refreshments will be served
Please remember to bring a non-perishable food item for the church's Food Pantry.
