Arts in the Cathedral is pleased to present Canterra Musica, the most advanced treble choir of Oberlin Choristers, directed by Jennifer Call, Oberlin Choristers’ Artistic Director. This free concert will take place this Sunday, June 5, at 3:30 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. A freewill offering will be accepted. A reception will follow the concert. Canterra Musica’s summer tour repertoire includes Purcell's Sound the Trumpet, Brumfield’s No Time, and features Gwyneth Walker's The Gift to Sing, a work which the Choristers recently commissioned. This set will also be performed before the Manhattan Concert Productions Children's Choir Festival Choir at Carnegie Hall in June.
Canterra Musica, comprised of auditioned singers in grades 7-12, has traveled each year since 1995. The choir has sung in world-class venues including the Sydney Opera House, Australia, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Ireland and Chartres Cathedral, France.
