Rehearsals begin February 18th, 2018 and will be held Sundays - Thursdays 6:30-10:30p.

The production is scheduled to open March 30th and will run through April 22nd; with performances on Fridays & Saturdays 8p, and Sundays @ 2p. There will be an added 2p performance on Saturday, April 7th in addition to the 8p performance that evening. No performance on April 1st. 

DIVERSE AND NON-TRADITIONAL CASTING WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL ROLES.

Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best shows off your vocal ability. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key, double sided, in a three ring binder. An accompanist will be provided. In addition, please bring a current photo or headshot/resume if available. 

Auditions are by appointment only. Time slots available are as follows: Saturday, February 3rd: 2p, 2:30p, 3p, 3:30p, 6, 6:30p, 7p, 7:30p, 8p

Dance Callbacks will be held on the afternoon of Sunday, February 4th. Principal Callbacks will be held on the evening of Monday, February 5th.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

*ROXIE HART - (Female, Any Ethnicity, Late 20s – 40s) Innocent, sexy, funny, desperate; Roxie isn’t the smartest and doesn’t think of the consequences of her actions. Must be a strong dancer with great belt. 

*VELMA KELLY - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 30s-40s) Sarcastic, sexy, tough, keen eye for publicity. Velma is a fighter and survivor. Must be a strong dancer with great belt. 

*BILLY FLYNN - (Male, Any Ethnicity, 30s-50s) Suave, charming, handsome, manipulative; educated lawyer who can wheel and deal to get anyone to do anything. Strong singer/actor who can move well.

MATRON “MAMA” MORTON - (Female or Male, Any Ethnicty, 30s-50s) Seductive, powerful and tough; The matron of the Cook County Jail. Believes all favors should be reciprocated. Strong comedic actor/singer.

AMOS HART - (Male, Any Ethnicity, 30s-40s) Charming, funny, vulnerable man; Soft and easily manipulated. A strong comedic-sad actor who sings well.

MARY SUNSHINE – (Male, Any Ethnicity, Late 20s-40s) Male soprano or counter-tenor can legitimately sing to a high B flat. Acts like a good natured reporter but is in reality a high-powered gossip columnist. Great comedian and legit singer. 

LIZ – (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Merry Murderess. Killed her husband with a shotgun because he “popped” his gum. Strong dancer/singer in great shape.

ANNIE - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Merry Murderess. Found out her husband had several wives and killed him with Arsenic. Strong dancer/singer in great shape.

JUNE - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Merry Murderess. Killed her husband with a carving knife after he found out she cheated on him. Strong dancer/singer in great shape.

HUNYAK - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Merry Murderess. Accused of chopping off her husband’s head. She is actually innocent. However, she is found guilty and hanged. Strong dancer/singer in great shape. This is a challenging role as all her lines are in Hungarian. Would like this actress to have a strong background in ballet. 

MONA - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Merry Murderess. Killed her boyfriend after she found out he was sleeping around. Strong dancer/singer in great shape.

GO-TO-HELL KITTY - (Female, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) Kills her boyfriend in her apartment after coming home and finding him with two girls. She is wealthy and goes crazy telling everyone to "go-to-hell". Strong dancer/singer in great shape.

Male Ensemble – (Males, Any Ethnicities, 20s-40s) Play multiple characters including: FRED CASELY, SERGEANT FOGRATY, HARRY, AARON, MARTIN HARRISON, COURT CLERK, THE JUDGE, JUROR/FOREMAN. STRONG dancers/singers/actors.
