About the Craft and What to Expect from Training
Film, TV & Commercial acting differs from any other genre of acting, in every way. It is a more intimate style of acting as opposed to stage acting, which is performed on a broader scale for a live audience, or voice acting, where your interpretation has to provide the entire "theater of the mind" setting for the listener. On-Camera acting, film acting in particular, is "realistic" and can sometimes feel as though you aren't doing anything, but that is far from the case. What happens behind and in your eyes can make the difference between a great or forgettable performance.

In this 7 Thursdays + 1 Saturday class, you'll learn the following:

1.  All of the industry lingo, best practices and how to prepare for an audition before you ever leave your house
2.  What your "type" is and how to market that type
3.  What should go on your resume when you have little to no experience
4.  What are appropriate head shots for your age and type
5.  How to Slate (state your name, age, height for an audition) on camera
6.  How to audition for commercial, film or TV project with real scripts provided by the instructor which includes:
     a.  Scene study
     b.  Monologue delivery
     c.  Commercials
     d.  Cold Reads (when you don't have the time to "warm up" or make early choices before an audition)
7.  How to bring a unique but "castable" delivery to the audition, making it your own
8.  What to wear, say, and how to behave at a 1st round audition or CALL BACK
9.  How to get representation from a Talent Agency or compete without one
10. All about Union Membership and other Business Of The Business details to grow your career

On-Camera Acting Instruction is taught with real scripts from Commercials, TV & Film projects you've seen. 6 student limit
The cost is $500 for 8, 2.5 hour classes on Thursday's, 6-8:30pm and one 3 hour Marketing Seminar
on Saturday, April 21, 1-4pm. All students may repeat the Marketing Seminar at any time in the future, FREE of charge. They are offered 2 - 3 times per year.

You will come away with a studio taped monologue that can be posted on any websites to showcase yourself.
