Everyone's favorite family, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, is on stage at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre July 22 - Aug. 20

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH – If you've ever been young and in love, you know how stressful it is to introduce your eccentric family to your beloved's spotless family. It can only get worse if you are a member of the "creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky" Addams Family. As the lyrics to the beloved TV theme song state, "they're altogether ooky."

THE ADDAMS FAMILY musical comedy will be staged by Chagrin Valley Little Theatre for 13 performances on weekends July 22 - August 20. Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on select Sundays (July 31, Aug. 7 and Aug. 14).

The plot has Wednesday Addams, that ultimate princess of darkness, all grown up and in love with a young man from a respectable, so-called normal family. She confides this to her father, Gomez, begging him to not tell her mother, Morticia, who would be… well… mortified. But, Gomez has never been able to keep a secret from his wife. Everything changes when the family hosts a dinner for the boyfriend and his parents.

Directed and choreographed by Pamela LaForce, with musical direction by Andy Novak, CVLT's rendition of this 2010 Broadway hit offers lively summer fun. The script was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Tony-winning composer Andrew Lippa.

"Fans of the 1960s TV show and 1990s films will love this show," CVLT Technical Director Edmond Wolff said. "It has all of the culture-clash humor and oddball characters of those shows plus musical numbers featuring our talented cast."

The CVLT cast includes Paul Sloop ('Gomez'), Jen Justice ('Morticia'), Alex Marzullo-Petsche ('Wednesday'), Don Knepper ('Fester'), Mason Kacmar ('Pugsley'), Candace Russell ('Grandma') and Michael Kecic ('Lurch'), on the Addams side, with Enrique Caraballo ('Lucas'), Nina Takacs ('Alice'), and Steve Brofman ('Malcom') on the "normal" side. The Addams 'Ancestors' ensemble includes Elyse Mulvaney, Genevieve Vince, Emily Stack, Kimberly Sullivan, Leah Michele Davenport, Stephen Bundy and Glen Johnson.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for students and seniors. Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. The play is not recommended for young children. Call the Box Office, 440-247-8955 Monday – Saturday 1-6 p.m. or contact www.CVLT.org. The theatre is located at 40 River Street in Chagrin Falls.
