Chagrin Falls meets ‘Sin City’ in CVLT's annual Murder by the Falls fundraiser on Sept. 7 & 8

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - Amateur sleuths will take to the streets on Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8 to track down a 'killer' performance of MURDER BY THE FALLS at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. This will be CVLT's 33rd annual interactive mystery fundraiser.

This year's show, Sin City, is the seventh original Murder by the Falls comedy/mystery penned by the sibling team of Andrew and Greta Rothman. The plot takes place at a Las Vegas hotel where law enforcement professionals from around the world are meeting for an annual technology expo. A fictional Chagrin Falls high-tech equipment manufacturer is scheduled to reveal their game-changing new weapon, but their welcome reception turns murderous. With each of the 'seven deadly sins' hilariously represented, the audience is tasked with finding out which one is deadliest.

Attendees will arrive at CVLT's Main Stage, 40 River Street, beginning at 6:30 PM. There they will meet and mingle with rest of their eight-member detective squad over hors d'oeuvres and a beer/wine cash bar. At 7:30 PM ACT I of the story unfolds on stage. During the intermission, participants leave the theatre to search for clues hidden in the village shop windows and to interview live characters familiar with the suspects. Teams return for dessert, wine, and coffee as they come up with their solutions to the crime. During Act II, the killer is revealed and prizes are awarded to the detective squad with the correct answers.

Actors in the show include Cleveland's own Jan Jones, Don Bernardo, Jim Marzullo, Steve Pike, Brenda Redmond, Andrew Rothman,  Kristine Tesar, Steven R. Tiderman, Talia Valline, Brenda Willis, Adam Young, and Abby Zerull. The show also features cameo appearances by Chagrin Falls and South Russell police and government officials.

Tickets to Murder by the Falls are $75 per ticket, a portion of which is tax deductible as a donation to CVLT. Proceeds from this event support CVLT's operating budget, and help to kick off the organization's 89th Season. For reservations to this always-popular event, call (440) 247-8955 or visit the Box Office 1-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

CVLT is generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and is supported by the Ohio Arts Council. CVLT is a proud member of the American Association of Community Theatre.
