The Ascension of Jordan L. Wells During the 2017 Total Lunar Eclipse is a new work by Dylan Todd Brown, directed and produced by Kyra Cutsail for Cleveland PUBLIC Theatre’s Test Flight Series. We will be holding auditions by appointment this week, Sunday, January 19 through Saturday, January 25. Note: This will be a staged reading of the piece. We are looking for 6 non-AEA actors.

The Ascension of Jordan L. Wells is a psychological horror that explores the thin line between belief, sacrifice, and the unknown. During a camping trip under the 2017 total lunar eclipse, unraveling secrets and rising tensions force friends to confront their deepest fears—and the consequences of their actions. Content Warning: This play contains horror elements, adult language, and violence.

Production Timeline: Rehearsals will begin the week of 1/26 based on actor availability. Required rehearsal Wednesday, February 5. Performance will be Saturday, February 8 at 7PM at the James Levin Theatre.

In your email, please include your availability for the week of January 19, as well as a resume (optional). Auditions will be held via Zoom, with link and time attached in response. Auditions will consist of readings from the script; we will provide sides/script prior to the audition. Your audition may be grouped with other actors.

Character Breakdown:

JORDAN - 21 years old. Non-binary. Diagnosed with schizophrenia after a mental breakdown where they saw a giant moth-like figure. Former partner of QUINN. Painter. Musician. Astronomy lover. College dropout.

QUINN - 21 years old. Former partner of JORDAN. Photographer. Broke up with JORDAN shortly after their mental breakdown.

DAKOTA - 24 years old. JORDAN's older sister. Has a degree in Education but has yet to get a job. Has been traveling with CASEY, her husband, for the past year.

CASEY - 25 years old. DAKOTA's husband and partner all throughout college. Rich trust fund. Passed the bar but has yet to practice law.

OLEANDER - Age unknown. The moth-like figure that appears to JORDAN that no one else can see or hear. Tries to convince JORDAN they can become like them through ascension, only possible during a total lunar eclipse.
