Dobama Theatre is looking for African-American actors of all ages to participate in the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival for the following plays:
A Brother’s Love by Alexander Nash (3rd Grade – Central Primary School – Bedford) , Directed by Melissa Crum.
Needed:
(1) African-American Boy, 8-10 years old
(1) African-American Man, 22 - 24 years old
(1) Narrator (Male or Female, any age)
(1) African-American Female, Mother Role
The End of the Moon : A Twisted Story by Desirae Crosby (4th Grade – Warner Girls’ Leadership Academy – Cleveland), Directed by Rocky Encalada
Seeking a multi-ethnic cast for the following characters: Mom, Dad, Five Siblings (3 girls, 2 boys) ranging from ages 8 - 15 years old), a News Reporter and The President of the United States.
There are no AEA contracts available for this production.
Performances will be held Friday, June 5 - Sunday, June 7, 2015.
Rehearsals will begin immediately.
A Dobama tradition, the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival receives hundred of plays each year written by Cuyahoga County students, grades 1 -12. Dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Bianchi, the festival is the nation's first event of its kind, encouraging kids to celebrate the fun and joy of live theatre by seeing their words come to life on stage.
