The 7 Year Anniversary of Mental Illness and Friends!
Friday, May 31st at 7:30 PM, join us at Imposters Theater to celebrate 7 years of being open, honest, and hilarious about living with mental illness at Mental Illness and Friends, the live comedy talk show produced and hosted by veteran performer Deena Nyer Mendlowitz.
Mental Illness and Friends combines stand-up, improv, and open, honest dialogue with other artists dealing with mental health issues. Nyer Mendlowitz, who lives with anxiety and suicidal ideation, seamlessly weaves mental illness, real life, and laughter together.
Each month she invites other comedians, improv artists, actors, and often a musical guest to perform and share a bit of their own mental health history, in a show that closes with an improv set based on topics discussed that evening. The results are hilarious, honest, enlightening, empowering, inspiring and leave both the performers and audience feeling a little more connected and understood.
This special event features:
