Synopsis: Recent college graduate LEIA wrestles with an opportunity to have a meaningful life on a colonization mission in space. She struggles to reconcile the fact that her decision to go would mean saying goodbye to everyone she’s ever known.

Characters being Cast:

[ALICE] [GENDER: FEMALE] [ETHNICITY: Caucasian] [AGE: LATE 20s] Alice is Leia's ultra go-getter older sister. She represents traditional success with a solid career and great relationship with her husband. She doesn’t totally connect with her younger sister. She tries, but doesn’t quite care enough to listen.

[SCOTT] [GENDER: MALE] [ETHNICITY: ANY] [AGE: LATE 30s] He’s the cool uncle. It’s been a couple of years since he’s seen Leia, so there’s a little bit of awkwardness between them, but it quickly fades. He provides a safe, supportive environment for Leia to ponder her crisis.

[JOHN/JENNA] [GENDER: EITHER] [ETHNICITY: ANY] [AGE: 18] A very confident, young incoming college freshman. They’re going into college with a plan to graduate in three years, and seem to have everything all figured out. By chance, Leia starts a conversation with them, and they provide some powerful, but unexpected insight into Leia’s situation.

[HUSBAND] [GENDER: MALE] [ETHNICITY: ANY] [AGE: LATE 20s] Alice’s husband. Non-speaking part. Alice’s husband participates in a dinner scene with Alice and Leia in which he enhances the image of Alice as the perfect and successful older sister.
