This course is an introduction to long-form improvisation, based on the style developed by The iO Theater and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. We will start with a focus on the fundamentals - agreement, listening, and support - as well as the thing that should come across in every scene: the fun. We will also get into things like establishing the reality of the scene, connecting with your scene partner, and heightening based off game/premise.

This class is designed for beginners up to those with jam or short form improv experience.

Each week we will develop your group and individual skills through scene work and exercises.

NOTE: We will not meet 07/06; our final meeting will be 07/13

About me:

I'm a Cleveland area native (Mentor) who lived in Los Angeles for 15 years and worked as an actor, writer, and producer. 

I studied improv and sketch writing at IO West and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre; I was also a performer on house improv (Harold) teams at both theatres, and a writer/performer on a house sketch (Maude) team at UCB. 

My acting credits include Conan, Adam Ruins Everything, The Goldbergs, Glee, Community, Pretty Little Liars, and a series of Alltel commercials. 

I have written branded and original content for places such as Comedy Central Studios, AwesomenessTV, and FunnyorDie.
