POSITION: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (part-time)
Summary of Position:
The Technical Director will be responsible for the timely development and implementation of set, lighting, and sound design for the various activities of CVLT. The technical director works closely with the Director of each production or special event and with the Production Board which also monitors the work. The Technical Director is responsible for other work of the Theatre involving technical activity as well as safety, health, and storage requirements for equipment. The Technical Director works closely and cooperatively with all CVLT employees and volunteers.
Reports to: CVLT President and the Production and Technical Board
This is a part-time position to be filled as soon as possible.

Essential Functions:- Responsible for creating, building, and dismantling scenery, as well as designing and maintaining lighting and sound components.
- Works closely with the Director to meet the production requirements for the show.
- Responsible for providing technical assistance and builds for Main Stage, Youth Theatre, River Street Playhouse and Special Events of CVLT, as well as with third parties renting CVLT.
- Responsible for providing technical assistance for all theatre rentals involving light, sound, and other technical requirements.
- Responsible for managing the shop and backstage needs..
- Responsible for creating and following the technical budget parameters approved by the CVLT Board of Directors.
- Performs and coordinates other technical responsibilities for CVLT activities or as assigned from time-to-time by the CVLT President and the Production and Technical Board.

Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in historic Chagrin Falls, OH. Founded in 1930, CVLT is one of the country's oldest community theatre groups and is largely operated by volunteers. CVLT maintains two performance venues - the Main Stage and River Street Playhouse - which offer original programming throughout the year, including plays, musicals, and special events.
