Weathervane Playhouse is currently seeking candidates for the position of 2015-2016 Scenic Designer/Technical Director.  This is a new, full time position offered for the 2015-2016 season.

Responsibilities of this position include:

 

·        Designing, or mentoring the volunteer design, of 12 productions between July 2015 and July 2016.

 

Joint responsibilities with the Lighting Designer/Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director include:

 

·        Work with the Artistic Director to discuss designs, budgets and any special considerations that each show or the shop may need.

·        Work with directors to fulfill production concepts.

·        Attend Production Board meetings and assist the board with designer recruitment, training and support.

·        Attend production meetings and share ideas, progress and challenges.

·        Attend technical rehearsals and assist with volunteer training when necessary.

·        Responsible for recruiting volunteer designers for productions.

·        Responsible for rigging and maintaining scenery, supervising the artistry and proficiency of scene changes during technical rehearsals, maintaining shop equipment, ordering necessary supplies, and managing a shop budget.

·        Sharing sound and/or properties design and training responsibilities with the TD team volunteer designers for 12 theater productions in the 2015-2016 season.

·        Sharing stage management training responsibilities with the TD team.

·        Respectfully work with and train volunteers in all areas of technical theatre.

·        A positive attitude and the ability to work as a team player.
