On Thursday, April 16th, string players Diana
Pepelea and Nancy Patterson, violin; Laura Shuster and Brian Slawta, viola; and
Linda Atherton and Julie Myers King, cello, join in concert with special guest
Richard King, hornist of The Cleveland Orchestra. The program consists of
Mozart’s “Horn” Quintet in E-flat Major, K. 407, for violin, two
violas, cello and horn, and Dvorak’s String Sextet in A Major for
two violins, two violas, and two cellos. Both are unusually scored chamber
works, with rich textures and colors abounding.
On Sunday, April 19th, violinist Emily Cornelius
and percussionist Ross Karre perform a unique program for violin and a
multitude of percussion instruments. Enjoy the incredible virtuosity,
musicality, and amazing sonic palette presented by these talented musicians.
