Announcing: Summer 2015 Youth Theatre Classes at The Cassidy Theatre

 

StarDust! 4-6 year olds          

Mondays 10:00am-10:45am              June 29^th - August 10^th 2015

Here’s a fun way for the youngest ones to get their start in theater!  This non-stressful approach to basic acting will teach your star how to twinkle!  This class will work on imagination, memorization and working together. A brief showcase featuring what they have learned will be presented free for family and friends Monday August 10^th at 10:00 AM.

StarLight! 7-12 year olds

Mondays 11:00 am- 12:00 pm          June 29^th - August 10^th 2015

This class is for students who want to focus on acting.  During the course of this program, students will be instructed in improv, character work, and voice and movement for acting. The program is designed to benefit children of all abilities and experience levels.  Students must have basic reading skills. Studies will culminate in a free performance for family and friends Monday August 10^th at 11:00 AM. 

StarShine! 7-19 year olds (Students will be broken into smaller groups based on age)

Tues. and Thurs. 10:00 am- 1:00pm June 30^th - August 13^th 2015

This is an active and exciting class for students to study musical theatre including; singing, acting, and dance. Students of any experience level are encouraged to attend.  Students will develop audition skills, learn about theater history, creating a character, and building confidence. Studies will culminate in a free final performance for family and friends Saturday August 15^th at 12:00 PM on the Cassidy mainstage. 

GROUP CLASSES

(Back by popular demand) Great for Youth groups, Scout troops!!

Looking for a fun activity to keep your group busy this summer?  Come have some fun learning all about theater basics in this one-day, three hour, multi-age theater workshop.  Program includes a fun acting workshop featuring games and scene work, a backstage tour including costumes and props, brief theater history and rules, and much more!  This introduction to the theater world is meant to broaden students' knowledge of the arts. This workshop is perfect for Girl or Boy Scout Troops, home schooled students, or kids who just want to try a little sample of theater!  Must have basic reading skills. Troop leaders: please call the theater for more information about reserving a date for your troop--space is limited!  (Certificate will be presented at the end of workshop for credit towards patches or badges.)
$25 per child (At least one troop leader / parent representative per scout troop needs to be present. No fee for adults)

Dates Available –Thurs. June 25, and Wed. July 15

ONE DAY ONLY

Intro to Theater Class!

Great for busy kids (Ages 7-18)

Saturday July 11^th at 12:00 pm- 3:00pm

Enrollment $25 per student

This one day, three hour course is designed for students who are interested in the arts but don’t have the time for our regular classes.
