The Brecksville Theatre announces auditions for "Dracula"!

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue (classical or gothic tone preferred, but not required). Accents (British, Eastern European) are a plus but not required. Upon arrival, auditioning actors will fill out an audition form and then actors will be called on the stage (group audition style). There will be slight movement involved as we will be playing some theater games as an ice breaker.
Please bring a copy of your resume, headshot, and a list of conflicts you may have during the rehearsal process. NO conflicts for tech week , everyone is required to attend each day.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
Rehearsals begin the week of August 2nd. Rehearsals will be typically be Sunday thru Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.*
*Subject to change depending on cast availability.
MANDATORY TECH/DRESS SCHEDULE:
Tentatively the schedule is as follows: Tech Monday 9/21 – Thursday Preview 9/24 (6:30p – 10p) and ready to open on Friday 9/25.

AVAILABLE ROLES:
Dracula: Male-presenting, 30–55. Commanding, charismatic, and dangerous. Must balance elegance with underlying menace. Strong stage presence required
Johnathan Harker: Male-presenting, 20–35. A solicitor drawn into Dracula’s web. Intelligent, earnest, increasingly desperate.
Lucy Westenra: Female-presenting, 18–30. Charming and lively, with a vulnerability that becomes central to the story.
Professor Van Helsing: Male-presenting, 40–65. Eccentric, brilliant vampire hunter. Intellectual authority mixed with urgency and intensity.
Renfield: Male-presenting, 25–50. A disturbed asylum patient. Requires strong physicality and ability to portray instability and obsession.
Dr. Seward: Male-presenting, 30–50. A rational doctor struggling to understand the supernatural. Grounded and thoughtful
Featured Ensemble: Orderly and Maid. 18+ Versatile performers comfortable with multiple roles, movement, and atmosphere-building. These roles will also serve as part of the crew for scene changes.
