TEST FLIGHT 2026

Celebrating 10 Years!

Featuring workshop productions by Northeast Ohio artists as part of CPT’s New Play Development Program

 

 

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) celebrates the 10th anniversary of its quintessential play development series, Test Flight, back with six established and up-and-coming Northeast Ohio devisers. This year’s event will run January 29 through February 14 and feature a double bill each weekend. The 2026 festival features comedy, drama and dance! The last weekend Feb. 12 – Feb. 14 features a double bill of CPT’s two community ensembles Teatro Público de Cleveland and Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi.

Uhaulin’

A new play about three couples intersecting at different stages of moving in and out of a shared apartment complex.

 

Parrot Play

By Molly McFadden

Directed by Michael Glavan

Two old college friends and their husbands endure a high stakes and last-minute reunion that …doesn’t quite stir up the good ol’ times of 40 years prior.  Chaos, confessions, a little weed, and an unruly parrot make for a bizarre and revelatory night as four septuagenarians navigate their next chapter of life.

Perigon: A Birth Story

Boxed: A Dance Theatre Show

A witty dance theatre work taking a sharp look at what it means to make room for our whole selves in a world of endless boxes.

The Exit Door

The Exit Door explores migratory grief and the emotional journey of immigration through a young woman navigating a foreign airport. Trapped between the life she left and the future she hopes for, she discovers moments of humor and magical realism while confronting identity and the courage to begin again.

Written & directed by Shakeeb Julien

A young villager convinces a war weary warrior to take them as an apprentice. As they travel, they meet colorful characters, growing with every new encounter. Will you be the same when you finally make your way back home?

The James Levin Theatre is ADA-compliant featuring a patron elevator and an all-gender, wheelchair accessible restroom.
