Casting call- Escape from Reality

A student short film written by Tony Dersch

 

4 teenagers get together to play a tabletop roleplay game (like Dungeons and Dragons) in order to forget about their stressful realities and enjoy playing as better fantasy versions of themselves.

-Saturday June 11th: 1:00pm- 5:00pm

-Sunday June 12th: 2:00pm- 6:00pm

-Monday June 13^th: 5:00pm- 7:00pm

 

Important information!

-Headshots and resume needed for audition.

-Plan to shoot in August for 7 days, will lock down dates asap.

-Shooting will mainly be in the Toledo Ohio area and along the border in Michigan.

-This production is not paid and nonunion.

-Meals will be provided, transportation and housing when needed will also be provided.

-IMDB credit will be given as well as a copy of the YouTube link.

Riley- a 17 year old genderqueer rebel who wants nothing more than to escape their homelife

-Age range: 17-25

-Gender: any gender works but this characters dresses androgynously and uses they/them pronouns.

Cameron- a 17 year old himbo jock who wants to protect his friends and be a veterinarian

-Age range: 17-25

-Gender: written as a male character but can be a female character

-Ethnicity: any

 

Nat- a 16 year old anxious nerd who lives with the motto “anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”

-Age range: 17-25

-Gender: written as a male but can be female

-Ethnicity: any

 

Alex- a 16 year old artist who wants nothing more than to make a living doing art.

-Age range: 17-25

-Gender: written as female but can be male

-Ethnicity: any

 

Minor characters (will only be needed for 1-2 days of shoot)

Daniel- Riley’s emotionally abusive father who’s a workaholic and avoids domestic household duties.

-Age range: 40s-50s

-Gender: Male

-Ethnicity: any

 

Jane- Cameron’s overworked mother who loves her family but desires respect from her family.

-Age range: 40s-50s

-Gender: female

-Ethnicity: any

 

Lizzie- Cameron’s annoying younger sister who loves to bother her older brother.

-Age range: 10-15

-Gender: female

-Ethnicity: any
