Beck Center is pleased to announce AUDITIONS for the hilarious musical...."SOMETHING ROTTEN".
Open Call auditions will take place on Sunday, Feb. 20th and Monday, Feb. 21st with
audition slots beginning at 5PM each day. To make your appoint call the Beck Center
Box Office at 216-521-2540 x10 during regular business hours.
"SOMETHING ROTTEN" opens July 8th and closes August 7th, with the rehearsal
process beginning the last few days of May.
"SOMETHING ROTTEN" was originally on Beck's schedule for Summer of 2020, and
had just been cast when the pandemic hit. Some original cast members remain from
the original casting session (Incl. Shakespeare, Nick Bottom, Nostradamus, Brother
Jeremiah, Lord Clapham and Shylock ) The featured roles of Nigel, Portia, Bea and The
Minstrel are open, as well as most of a very busy and well-used Ensemble!
Age ranges for Nigel and Portia are 20 to 30, for The Minstrel is 20 to 40 and for Bea,
between 28 and 38 ideally. The Ensemble age range is 16 thru 65.
It is anticipated that there will be one AEA (SPT) contract available. All performers 18
and older receive a stipend, and all non-Equity performers are eligible for EMC points
(likely 10 or 11 weeks in this case)
Please prepare a 90 second vocal selection that shows off your voice. Bring music in
your key. An accompanist will be provided. If you prefer to send in a video audition, that
Feb. 21st.
Callbacks will be in-person the weekend of Feb. 26/27, times TBD.
