AKRON SYMPHONY CHORUS AUDITIONS for 2015-2016 Season

The Akron Symphony Chorus will hold auditions for the 2015-2016 season August 29^th. Auditions are by appointment only. There will be open rehearsals for those interested in the Akron Symphony Chorus before auditioning on Monday, August 31^st and Tuesday, September 8^th at First United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. Highlights of the season include Faure’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Orff’s Carmina Burana. Audition Requirements:

• A short solo piece of your choice in any language, accompanied.  Please bring a copy of the music for the pianist.

• A prepared excerpt: Faure’s Requiem, which will be emailed to you. (It is not necessary to sing the original language, a neutral syllable is fine (“loo-loo”, etc)

• Vocalization, to demonstrate the full extent of your vocal range

• Sight reading
