Latitudes Poetry Night at Compass Coffee (in The Well)
647 East Market Street
Akron, Ohio

Wednesday, May 17th at 7pm

Latitudes is a new poetry night in Akron, taking place every 3rd Wednesday at Compass Coffee.

We will be hosting featured poets, followed by an open mic*, providing a supportive space to appreciate, share, and foster the love and craft of poetry.

Our first feature is Diane Kendig!

Diane Kendig’s five poetry collections include Prison Terms (forthcoming 2017), and she co-edited the recent anthology In the Company of Russell Atkins. A recipient of two Ohio Arts Council Fellowships in Poetry and a Fulbright translation award, she has published poetry and prose in journals such as J Journal, Ekphrasis, and Common Ground.

Her website is dianekendig.com, and she blogs at “Home Again” http://dianekendig.blogspot.com .

*Please note that while this is an unmoderated reading, we do ask that readers be mindful and respectful of children or families who may be present.  We ask that readers during open mic limit their poem to 3 minutes or less.  Thank you!
