Sunday, November 1 | 2 pm
If you don't know
JOHN KANDER by name, you know his music for big Broadway hits including
Cabaret,
Chicago and
Kiss of the Spider Woman, plus the blockbuster title song from Hollywood's
New York, New York. At 88, this Oberlin alum is still a force on Broadway, and he'll join us in person for this very special event. You'll hear selections from his great shows written with lyricist Fred Ebb. As a team, Kander & Ebb were the Rodgers & Hammerstein of the second half of the 20th century.
Tony Award-winning Broadway actress KAREN ZIEMBA, whose Broadway credits include Contact, Curtains, Bullets Over Broadway, Chicago, Steel Pier and 42nd Street, travels to Cleveland to co-host two performances of a very special concert celebrating the work of John Kander with TMTP Artistic Director BILL RUDMAN. Other featured vocalists are DERRICK COBEY, KATHERINE DEBOER and MATTHEW WRIGHT.
