AUDITIONS for War of the Worlds

This is the stage adaptation of the classic (and notorious) 1938 Orson Welles Radio drama of H. G. Wells’ science fiction classic War of the Worlds. Presented as a series of live radio news bulletins, this play tracks the events of an invasion of hideous beings from Mars, our ill-fated attempt to repel them, and the horrors of a post invasion world
Auditions Information:
All roles are open. All ethnicities considered, all characters can be played by either gender. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script.

Rehearsals:
TBD: Tentatively scheduled 10am to noon, Mondays through Thursdays beginning January 16. Conflicts will be considered, be prepared with ALL conflict dates at auditions

Casting Information:
ANNOUNCER: A radio announcer who serves to tie the narrative together
PROFESSOR PIERSON: Initially a doubter in the Martian attack, Pierson quickly becomes entrapped in the thick of the invasion and must strive to stay alive through the madness.
STRANGER: a survivor of the Martian assault who encounters Pierson. This former soldier has gone mad from the horrors of the Martian onslaught, and has developed a unique set of ideas for the future of humanity.
Four other actors will be needed to play multiple roles throughout the show, ranging from news reporters to soldiers to government officials. Must be able to quickly switch characters on the fly and show a broad acting range.
