Cinderella Confidential

Lorain County Community College and Spark Theatre Company announce non-equity auditions for our upcoming production of Cinderella Confidential. We are seeking 4-8 performers and various production positions for this show.


Story Synopsis: 

The prince has the shoe. He's ready to wed. But who's the woman behind the foot? Two investigative reporters—Deb Jabber from Action News Day Now and Sonny Glamour from Glitter Kingdom Today—compete for the scoop of the century, interviewing everybody from a fairy godmother in desperate need of a day-planner to mice in the witness protection program. Look for cameos from Pinocchio, Jack and his cow and other celebrities in this no-holds-barred exposé of the timeless love story and what it means to find—and TELL—the truth.


Roles are available for 4-8 actors of all genders and ages.

·       DEB JABBER: A reporter for action Newsday Now.

·       SONNY GLAMOUR: Reporter for Glitter Kingdom Today.

·       THE PRINCE: The man with the shoe.

·       FAIRY GODMOTHER: A fairy in need of a day planner.

·       PINNOCHIO: A boy with ambition and a cow.

·       THE SHOEMAKER: A maker of the finest footwear.

·       AN ELF: The real maker of the finest footwear.

·       MR. AND MRS. MOUSE: Creatures with a shocking tale to tell.

·       CINDERELLA: A hard-working woman.

·       TWO WICKED STEPSISTERS: Women who have everything they want.


LCCC Theatre embraces diversity and inclusion and utilizes a non-traditional casting policy. Non-traditional casting is a method designed to increase artistic options by expanding casting opportunities for women, actors of color, seniors, and actors with disabilities in roles where race, gender, age, or the presence or absence of a disability are not germane. To that end, we encourage all actors to audition, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or physical ability. Please note that this play contains moments of intimacy.

Those interested in non-performing positions such as run crew, set, lights, costumes, and stage management are encouraged to attend auditions, but may also email LCCC Director of Theatre Jeremy Benjamin at jbenjami@lorainccc.edu to express their interest.


How to Audition

Auditions will occur on Sunday, February 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and Wednesday, February 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Auditions will take place in the Stocker Arts Center's Cirigliano Studio Theatre on the campus of Lorain County Community College, 1005 Abbe Road N, Elyria, OH 44035. Please use the link below to sign up for an audition. Actors will be asked to read from the script and participate in group improvisational movement exercises, so come prepared to move. Please bring a resume and headshot if possible and be prepared with your conflicts (all dates between February 23 and April 5, 2025) to fill out an audition form. Plan to stay for at least half an hour. Scripts are available on 2 hr. reserve at the circulation desk of LCCC’s Bass Library.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will be scheduled around actor availability based on conflicts supplied at auditions. Rehearsals will begin around the week of February 24, 2025. Most rehearsals will be on weeknight evenings, but some Saturday/Sunday rehearsals may be scheduled based on cast conflicts.


Performances

All performances will occur on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 3-5, 2025. Please note that the following specific performance dates:
Thursday, April 3: 9:45 am matinee for schools
Thursday, April 3: 7:30 pm public performance
Friday, April 4: 7:30 pm public performance
Saturday, April 5: 2:00 pm public performance
