Now casting for "The Woman Who Marries a Sound" -- an avant-garde film about a woman who falls in love with the sound of insects, and her heartbreak when the sound fades away.

"BUG BOI"

Bug Boi is a mysterious character who might be a timeless superhero who never ages.  Or, he may just be a down-and-out actor living in an abandoned bungalow in Hollywood Hills. Whatever he is, Bug Boi is witty, deep, and engaging – a romantic old soul.


Man, age 22-36. We encourage submissions from Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian, Middle Eastern, and multiracial actors.  Strong preference given to actors with improv skills.

FILMING DATES

Filming will take place in summer 2021.  Several days of rehearsal and filming will be required.  We typically film on weekends and on weekday evenings.


COMPENSATION / NON-UNION

While this is a micro-budget, volunteer-run project, a small stipend will be provided.  Additionally, expenses such as wardrobe and travel will be covered, and craft services will be provided. Non-union talent only, please.


COVID-19 SAFETY

All cast and crew have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to audition.


ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS

Constance Anna is a Cleveland artist and writer.  Her work has been featured on WCPN Ideastream and in Keep Talking: A Storytelling Show.  She holds degrees in English and communications, and certifications in fine art and design.


Genevieve Jencson is a poet, writer, and performing artist who has appeared in festivals and other venues across Northeast Ohio. Genevieve holds an MFA in creative writing from Cleveland State and the NEOMFA, and a BA in English from Hiram College.


Don Pavlish is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker who has created numerous short documentary films in Northeast Ohio.  His projects have won many awards and media mentions including appearances in the New York Times and on NPR's Talk of the Nation.  Don is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
