”Xanadu”

About the Show:

Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California. in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds. Xanadu is a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches while the original legendary, chart-topping tunes lift them out of their seats. You'll want to keep the music in your head and Xanadu in your heart... forever.

Rehearsals will be Mon-Thu 6:30-9:30 pm & Sun TBA

Performance Dates:

September 21-October 7, 2018

Fridays/Saturdays 7:30 pm; Sundays 2:00 pm in the Corning Auditorium

NOTE:  There will be a 1:00 senior matinee on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

Requirements & Preparation:

• Appointments Needed.  Call Ann Hedger at 440-951-7500 x103.  5 minute timeslots.
• Prepare 32 bars of a ballad or up tempo song, preferably in the style of the show. This show has music by Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton John.
• Be prepared to possibly read from the script.
• Most roles will have to roller skate.
• An accompanist will play for all auditioners, please bring sheet music in proper key.  Acapella auditions discouraged.
• Must be available for all performances, including the senior matinee.
• Bring a headshot or snapshot of yourself to attach to our paperwork.

Men & Women - Ages 14 to Adult.

ALL roles are available.

The Fine Arts Association supports non-traditional casting.
