Cleveland Play House is looking to hire an additional follow-spot operator for its production of Amadeus. This position pays $15.00/hour. The position runs April 2 - 28, 2024. Daytime availability is required during tech and previews (April 2 - 12), as well as for Saturday and Sunday Matinees, and a student matinee on April 17.

REQUIREMENTS: Able to follow instructions, able to aim follow spot and pickup actors in the dark, able to work as a member of a team but also able to take on individual responsibilities and follow them through to completion, must be able to lift at least 40 pounds, ability to work well with a variety of personalities, basic knowledge of the theatrical production process, ability to stay alert and focused during long periods of inactivity, must have good eyesight in low light situations, familiarity with basic follow spot operation

OBJECTIVE

To ensure that each technical rehearsal and performance runs smoothly and to ensure consistently high quality productions while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with preshow cleanup and setup as instructed by ASM or P.A.
Check follow spot before each performance to make sure it is operating correctly.
Execute each follow spot cue when called by the Stage Manager.
Keep follow spot focused on the target actor making sure to use the correct gel and spot diameter as determined by the Lighting Designer
Keep paperwork up to date by writing down any changes in cues or pickups.
Assist with the daily post show clean up as assigned by ASM or P.A.
Follow all health and safety guidelines established by the theatre. Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor immediately.
