Synopsis: 

Created by Meredith L. King, in collaboration with the Saturated Fat Ensemble; Saturated Fat  is an original theatrical spectacle that explores fatness, connection and visibility in the modern world. This ONE-NIGHT ONLY live play derives from the real life experiences of the ensemble, as well as experiences shared through the Twitter hashtag #FatSideStories.


Originally developed in Cleveland Public Theatre's Entry Point series in 2017, Saturated Fat is back and better than ever as an independent production with new content and a new cast. 


Saturated Fat is an immersive experience in fatness that explores both the unique and universal in existing in a theorized, politicized and often deconstructed body, and aims to find power in that reality. Far from being a “woe as me” tale, Saturated Fat rethinks fatness and the meaning we give to it through a thoughtful and humorous integration of movement, music, story and theatricality.

About the Project Partner

GENERATION+ is an Ohio based startup whose mission is to create a celebratory community, that doesn’t currently exist for fat women to connect with their peers. They are revolutionary fat girls with bold attitudes who just want to do fun things with their fat friends. GENERATION+ serves as a hub focused on authentic relationship building that empowers fat-positivity in safe spaces.
