Cleveland Public Theatre Announces

General Auditions

 

When:

Saturday, April 6, 12pm – 5pm

Monday, April 8, 5:30pm – 9:30pm

 

Where:

Cleveland Public Theatre (6415 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, OH 44102)

 

Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in five-minute increments. Actors should prepare no more than three minutes of material which can include 1-2 brief monologues and/or a short a cappella song. (Please note: auditions will be stopped at 3 minutes.)

 

AEA contracts will be considered throughout the season.

Audition Description

CPT is casting for the entire 2019/2020 season, with the addition of Good at Heart, being produced in the BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival. (See information about Good at Heart below.) Some roles in individual productions have been precast, but there are many roles available for all types. CPT will disclose information about what characters are available, the dates of rehearsals/performances, and all pertinent information when actors are invited to callback auditions for specific shows. CPT rehearsals are generally held during weekday evenings and on weekends.

 

Good at Heart Project Description

Directed by: HyeJa Ju’s

Performance Dates: Wednesday, July 24 – Saturday, July 27

Rehearsal start Date: June 17

 

About HyeJa Ju:

HyeJa Ju is a Korean artist who is the director of B.B.G. Theatre, which translates to Actors, Audiences, and Spaces Theatre. B.B.G. Theatre is a cohort of artists creating new work that seeks to explore the human essence through experimental theatre and actor-centered stagecraft. Good at Heart is a physical, non-verbal work that illiterates the story of Anne Frank.

 

About BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival:

BorderLight launches as a 4-day late summer international theatre and fringe festival this July 25-28, 2019. It will feature top-flight performers from abroad and world premiere collaborations between Cleveland-based theatre artists and international artists. Combined with a Fringe Festival that will draw performers from Cleveland’s vibrant local theatre community and across North America, BorderLight will activate performance and public spaces from Playhouse Square to Public Square.
