CVLT's "10-10 Festival: Young Playwrights Edition" Deadline Extended to April 1

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — For over a decade, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre has brought one-acts by playwrights from around the world to its smaller River Street Playhouse stage for the biennial 10-10 Festival. In 2018, the organization launched a "Young Playwrights" edition to alternate summers with its older sibling, presenting plays penned by kids of all ages.

The Theatre's committee is now in the play-reading phase of preparation for the second run of this event and is considering original 10-minute scripts by playwrights ages 18 and under. Because of the number of young people who will now be off of school over the coming weeks and may be looking for something to do with their time, CVLT has extended the deadline to April 1, 2020.

The selected plays, which may cover any topic and feature actors of all ages, will be staged in July/August as the closing production of CVLT's 90th Season. The 2018 edition featured scripts by talented kids from Cleveland and surrounding suburbs, as well as submissions by students in Utah and California. The works included fairytales, wild comedies, family drama, and scenes of burgeoning love.
