Associate Professor of Theater Dr. Jerry Jaffe will be offering a one-day acting workshop on Shakespeare. The emphasis will be on how to speak these poetic and
"old-fashioned" lines in a modern and natural way. This will include a brief review of iambic pentameter and an introduction to applying modern psychology to building a Shakespearian character.
This workshop is open to all members of the community. All levels of experience
welcome, beginner to advanced, and all ages from high school on may participate.
We will work on sonnets, soliloquies, and short scenes.

Dr. Jaffe has over 20 years of experience teaching improv and acting in the United States, Japan, and New Zealand. He has directed over 80 plays, and in the
capacity of director, actor, playwright, producer etc., has worked on over 200. He currently teaches at Lake Erie College in Painesville.
