Cold Start Films is currently accepting video auditions from local non-union male talent to take over the role of "David" in the feature-length indie thriller "CUT: Reckoning", the sequel to the 2003 film "CUT".

SYNOPSIS:
15 years after being abducted, tortured, and left for dead by sadistic college classmates, Jody has overcome multiple personal tragedies to settle into a seemingly normal life, but an unexpected encounter sends her world, along with those of of her former captors, crashing back together in a dark cat-and-mouse game involving bitter vengeance, serial killers, and a dangerous love triangle

CHARACTER:
DAVID - Early 30s. Any ethnicity. 1st-year homicide detective. He should be boyishly enthusiastic and charming with a certain degree of naivete. Basically he's a big boy scout, eager to be helpful and to do a good job no matter what the situation.

For video auditions, please visit coldstartfilms.com to download sides for the role of David. We would ask that you please record yourself performing at least 2 of the 3 scenes, preferably one with Jody and one with Michael. You are welcome to perform them with a scene partner to help with your pacing and reactions during the dialogue, but if reading with a partner please keep the camera trained on you in a medium frame (from the waist up).

When videos are ready you may upload them to youtube (or another streaming video service if you prefer) and email the links to the contact email on the website.
**A note about his connection to Jody... while David is not exactly a "ladies' man", his chemistry with Jody should be natural, sensual/flirtatious, and immediate, belying their mutual degree of social awkwardness.

Production is already underway and will be ongoing throughout the Fall and Winter of 2018 (primarily interior scenes) and will conclude in the Spring of 2019 when warmer weather returns to allow for a few of our large-scale exterior scenes. Filming takes place at various locations, primarily around the Akron-Canton area.

Please note, this is a micro-budget project that is seeking online crowdfunding for additional support, so at this time cast and crew positions are not paid, however any production-related travel expenses such as fuel to-and-from sets will be reimbursed and on-set meals/facilities provided.
