Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy Announces FREE, In-Person Programming this Summer 

SESSION ONE: June 9 – June 27, 2025, for JUNIORS (7 - 10-year-olds) 

SESSION TWO: July 7 – August 1, 2025, for SENIORS (11 - 14-year-olds) 

Join us for Better Together, a 3-week (Juniors) or 4-week (Seniors) intensive summer arts program for young artists that is rewarding and fun. Under the guidance of CPT Teaching Artists, youth will come together to create and perform original stories that celebrate the beauty of our differences and the power of community. Through acting, production design, teamwork, and creativity, each participant will have the chance to share their unique voice and discover the magic of working together. Whether through storytelling, words, or movement, we’ll explore how our diverse experiences make us stronger and more connected. Come be part of a vibrant, supportive community where every story matters and everyone shines!

Enrollment is determined on a first come, first served basis and requires the submission of an application to the program. Families must submit an application by May 23^rd. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and families will be notified of enrollment no later than May 30th. Enrollment is capped at 17 young artists per session. This program is offered at NO COST, thanks to the support of the Cleveland Foundation and other generous supporters. 

Cleveland Public Theatre’s CAN Academy prioritizes Cleveland residents; however, non-Cleveland residents are welcome to apply.

Mondays – Thursdays

1:00-5:00pm 

*The Summer CAN Academy Juniors performance date is Friday, June 27^th, with extended programming hours ending at 6:30pm.

*There is NO programming on June 19^th in observance of Juneteenth.

SESSION TWO: 11 – 14 years old 
July 7 – August 1, 2025 

Four weeks 
Mondays – Thursdays

1:00-5:00pm 

*The Summer CAN Academy Seniors performance date is Friday, August 1^st, with extended programming hours ending at 6:30pm. 

Materials provided: journal, t-shirt, craft materials 

Materials needed: gym shoes, water bottle, bagged lunch
