Preschool Classes
Imagine THAT!
Ages 3-5

Tuition $145
Encourage early childhood education with arts integration at Weathervane Playhouse! In "Imagine THAT!,” Students will develop cognitive skills and emotional and social skills, which help them transition into
a classroom. All of this is done through play and imagination. With music, stories, visual arts and theatre games, we well challenge your little one to soar into outer space, be a fox hunting for his socks, be a princess/ firefighter/president or a wrangler
at the zoo—all they have to do is “Imagine That.”
Acting Classes
Tuition $175
The show is about to start. Hurry everyone, Places Please! Students will bring stories to life and learn theatre skills through imaginary play. Students will study story structure, explore character development,
and gain self-confidence. Is that a monster in the corner? Is Spider-Man playing cards with that bear? –Nope! It is just a typical day in theatre! This class is meant to be repeated.
Tuition $175
This class is designed for the child who has attended The
Introduction to Acting Class and was recommended to continue to the Intermediate Acting Class, or has equivalent experience on stage. It is time to take center stage as you child learns through theatre skills. This class builds on the previous
class and is designed to challenge our students!
Introduction
to Acting Ages 8 to 11
Saturdays, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Tuition $175
Challenge your child’s imagination as you empower him or her to take the stage. This class is designed for beginning actors, teaching them how to create the actor’s tool box. Students will learn
skills in movement, vocal color, script interpretation, and improvisation. Watch as your student gains confidence, self-esteem and a new creative outlet! This class is meant to be repeated.
Tuition $175
This class is designed for the child who has attended The
Introduction to Acting Class and was recommended to continue to the Intermediate Acting Class, or has equivalent experience on stage. Encourage your child to soar to new heights in this challenging class. Students will be encouraged to use their
skills to create characters with depth and motivation. Each student will leave the class “audition ready” with a monologue and new skills!
Tuition $180
The lights are up and it is time to Enter Stage Right. Good thing you took that class at Weathervane Playhouse! This class is designed as an introduction to theatre. Students will tackle improvisation and scripted
work in this fun and interactive class. The instructor will lead the students to discover how to portray a character with voice and movement while learning how to interpret the playwright’s textual clues. Join in the fun and learn through theatrical play!
This class is meant to be repeated.
Intermediate/Advanced
Acting: Ages 12 to 16
Saturdays, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Tuition $185
This class is designed for students who have had a previous acting class or stage experience. Our instructor will lead the students through in-depth script study, group improvisations and performance techniques.
Your actor will refine their talents, learn new skills and find a creative outlet for positive self-expression. This class is meant to be repeated and prior experience is strongly recommended.
Musical Theatre Classes
Prerequisite:

Ages 5 to 8, Saturdays, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Our Musical Theatre, Act One class takes our entire core curriculum and puts it to music. Sing and dance your way through some Broadway standards. Here comes the next Broadway star! Students will focus on musical
theater skills in this high-energy class that will get those toes tapping and those voices singing. This class is meant to be repeated.
Sing, dance and perform in Musical Theatre Act Two. Designed with the same objectives as Act One, but for older students, this class challenges experienced students through more complex choreography and solo
singing. Learn and explore in this class designed to inspire young actors. You will be flapping, pirouetting and box-stepping your way onto center stage! This class is meant to be repeated.
Prerequisite:
Introduction to Theatre is suggested
Ages 10 to 16, Saturdays, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Tuition $200
This class is designed for students with previous stage experience or who have taken a previous Musical Theatre class. Students will learn complex dance routines, solo and group singing, improvisation and scripted
work, and song interpretation. This class is designed to help students become a true triple threat. Prepare to be challenged and to shine on stage! This class is meant to be repeated and prior experience is strongly recommended.
Dance Classes
Are your toes feeling blue? Let Weathervane help you tap your troubles away with this beginning tap dancing class! This class will focus on teaching basic
technique and steps to make students familiar with tap dancing for the stage. We will "shim sham" and "shuffle off to Buffalo" in this fast-paced class. Students do not need previous tap-dancing experience to participate.
Grapevine and step ballchange your way to center stage. Our instructor will meet your child at their level with this Broadway based jazz class. This class will focus on basic technique and will provide a new
dance vocabulary for your budding triple threat. Students do not need dancing experience to participate. This class is meant to be repeated.
Private Studio
Tuition: $25 per half hour
With private voice study the teacher is able to structure the lesson to fit the needs and abilities of each student. The student will concentrate on breathing for singing, resonance, musicality, acting for the voice, sight singing and beginning theory.
Tuition: $30 per 45 minutes
An actor's technique is their method of getting the most out of their own talents and abilities and using them to interpret a character.
This begins with the basics: projection, diction, breath support, listening & reacting, body language and analysis.
Tuition: $25 (piano) $20 (guitar) per half hour
Learning an instrument is the most rewarding way to teach music theory. Our teachers give students a musical foundation by incorporating technique
through song study and exercises.
