Cleveland Play House is looking for an Assistant to the Lighting Designer to join the production team of LIGHT IT UP!, a new holiday musical.  Primary job responsibilities will include assisting the show Lighting Designer during tech rehearsals and preview performances, taking precise notes from the LD, clearly relaying work notes to the electrics crew, updating show paperwork via Lightwright and Vectorworks, and maintaining a current backup copy of the light board show file.

This position will attend designer run, all tech rehearsals and preview performances, and be accessible by phone during work calls onstage.

The typical production schedule has work calls in the morning, rehearsals in the afternoon, and rehearsal/preview performance in the evening.   This will be a full time commitment during the window of 11/19-12/3. 

The schedule will include the following dates:

Friday, 11/19: attend run-through and production meeting (afternoon/evening)

Sunday, 11/21: Focus (morning/afternoon/possible evening hours)

Monday, 11/22-Friday, 12/3:  Technical rehearsals/preview performances/opening

Days Off:  Saturday, 11/20; Thursday, 11/25; Monday, 11/29

ALD will be an independent contractor with a fee of $1,750 for their services and will receive credit as Assistant to the Lighting Designer in the production’s playbill.
